I’m super quiet at the moment and struggling to find time to blog… But I have a few things lined up for the next few weeks so please be patient and you’ll soon see me all over your screens once more!

My Route to Becoming an Apprentice

Hello lovelies!

I really wanted to share a story with you, all about how I found myself in an apprenticeship, because there were so many times that I panicked about my future (my story is a good one, I promise you) when I was actually on the right route all along!

I thought the best way of getting this entire story to you would be via a video, so here it is! I hope that there are some of you out there that are considering apprenticeships because they are amazing routes to get into and are definitely not spoken about enough.

I work very hard every single day, and it can be difficult, but sometimes the difficult things can be the best! I hope you enjoy this video (p.s. sorry it’s so long but it’s such a long story haha!)

Why Some Bloggers SHOULDN’T Do Makeup Tutorials…

The truth behind every photo or video I post is this – my family and I have so much fun. We are all crazy and annoying but oh my goodness, we have such a laugh!

I was looking back through my camera recently when I found an attempt at doing my sister’s makeup when she came home a few months ago. The footage was absolutely hilarious. There is so much stuff I can’t show you because it wouldn’t make sense, and so much stuff I would find too embarrassing to post… and disclaimer: I’m so bad at makeup it hurts.

Ideas?

I have so many content ideas right now, ah it is super exciting! The best (and worst) part of this, is that a lot of  my ideas will likely be done via video – omg interactive posting? Check me out.

The problem with this though, is that I work full-time… and it is winter… so it’s dark when I wake up and dark when I leave work…

Luckily for me, I have booked this Friday off work (more details on my Thursday & Saturday plans will emerge shortly, I’m sure…) So maybe… MAYBE…. you’ll have some new stuff on this little blog o’ mine shortly. Maybe…

But for now, here is a sunny island throwback on this glum Tuesday morning – have a happy day everybody!

Positively Half Way There

It is Wednesday everybody – the notorious ‘hump day’ because we are now half way through the week… I feel sleepy enough for it to be Friday, don’t you?

January always leaves me feeling super blue so I’m trying my best to preach ‘Stay Positive’ to you all! Avoid the negative nellies that have nothing good to say and try your best to crack a smile – you’re nearly through the week, and January is almost over!

Nutribuddy: First Impressions

I have been fortunate enough to receive some free goodies  from Nutribuddy to review this month, and can’t wait to share my experience with you! I am really excited to try out the products as part of my attempt to get fit and healthy this year, whilst also trying to slim down after the heavy eating over the christmas period… I will let you know how I get on with the products in the next couple of weeks! So – what gifts did I receive?!

  1. Sculpting Whey and Shake Bottle

Ah I am super excited to try this out! The shake is chocolate flavour, so should hopefully serve as a craving deterrent (the vending machine seems to have my number and keeps calling me?!)

Nutribuddy claim that the shake contains ingredients that boost metabolism, so it should hopefully burn calories quickly whilst giving me a nice energy boost – fingers crossed, I’m gonna need a boost now I’m starting to work out again! I like that they say the shake is natural, as it is super reassuring that I can trust the product. The bottle is super cute too and perfect size for taking out with you when you’re in a rush – so yeah, I’m really excited to try this one out!

2.Recipe Book

Totally adorable, this little recipe book is full of good ideas for shake and meals. I think this is going to be really fun to try out, as theres a couple of recipes in here that I am dying to try – they sound so delicious! This is a great little addition to the pack as it gives you a little bit of guidance on what you should be eating, so the whole process seems so much simpler. Planning meals is my downfall, so this should be pretty motivating!

3.  The Little Book of Weightloss

Another adorable little read, this Little Book of Weightloss tells you everything you need to know about the products and how to use them – it also includes an eating plan which I am excited to follow. It features a FAQ section, covering all the things you might be concerned about – just that little bit more reassurance, if you’re like me and need it!

4. Hunger Fix Tablets and Multivitamins

I’m a little sceptical about the hunger fix tablets, purely because I only really eat when I’m bored, not necessarily when I am hungry. Therefore I’m not sure whether I will be using the tablets, but will definitely let you know how I get on with them, should I get any big cravings that need fixing! The multivitamins look like a really cool edition to this kit, providing daily vitamins for a healthy boost whilst using the kit. I’ll be using these, definitely!

Dealing with Exams

It’s that time of year again, where we emerge from our merry little Christmas coma to discover that we have an exam to study for and very little time to do so! I personally hate January exams, as I always feel that they creep up on me because I’m so excited for Christmas that the exam gets a tad forgotten until January 1st… then it’s a panic.

But do not fear my fellow examinees! Here are a few of my top tips for smashing your exams…

1. Start preparing as early as you can!

Make sure that you finish reading all the material as soon as possible so that you can crack on with making revision aids in good time for the exam. This will ensure that you can identify the areas you need more time on, whilst also allowing you to relax a little more in the days before the exam – cramming gives you far too much unnecessary stress!

2. Study little and often – break it up!

Again, please don’t try and cram it all into your head without taking a break! Cramming is unhealthy and counterproductive. I usually set myself “study days” in the run up to an exam where I try and revise as much as possible, but I take regular breaks throughout the day so that my head has a minute to actually digest what I have just revised. You wouldn’t eat dinner immediately after breakfast…would you?

3. Drink water – plenty!

Treat water like your kryptonite. Keeping hydrated is extremely important when studying as it makes your body function at its top form, helping you remember everything you need to. Plus it gives you lots of reasons to take a break – toilet break and top up, anyone?

4. Tailor your revision to you 

It would be completely useless for me if I just read pages and pages of notes without doing anything with them, because I learn best from summarising information into colourful spider diagarams and posters. I know this because I have tailored my revision over the years and noticed that this is how I learn best! In contrast, you might learn from reading pages of notes, or listening back to audio notes. The point is, tailor your revision to how you learn best – don’t just copy your friend’s method. We know our own minds the best, so study in a self-tailored fashion for ultimate success.

5. Don’t panic

Easier said than done, right? Keeping cool in the run up to an exam is essential in avoiding extreme procrastination! Try and relax. Instead of fretting, ensure you are revising as much as possible at any given opportunity. Take time out of your day to revise, even if it’s just for half an hour. Dedicate yourself to the exam as much as you can and you’ll find your nerves blossoming into confidence. Breathe! It’s all going to be ok.

6. Eat well

What a mighty fine reason to take a break – a girls gotta eat! Make sure you are fuelling your body with good food so that you have enough energy to absorb the information. A few veggies won’t hurt!

7. Sleep

Don’t do an all nighter, your brain will go bye byes before you realise. Get plenty of sleep near an exam so your head is wide awake and ready to learn!

8. Move about & turn off that phone!

Don’t sit in a chair all day thinking you’re actually taking a break by scrolling on Instagram for ten minutes. Take a stroll and get some fresh air in your breaks so that you aren’t turning into a stone statue, cowering over a book. If you ache today, you’ll ache tomorrow, and being uncomfortable is the biggest distracted when it comes to revising.

Furry friends & bye byes

After 3 weeks of having Molly and Ben at home, the day has officially arrived for them to go back down south and proceed with their day to day lives, leaving me ready to see them at weekends or in a matter of weeks. Sigh. 

It really shouldn’t be as big as a deal as it feels every time they go, because I know I will see Ben at the weeekend and Molly is only going for a week before she comes back home for a week again – but it’s the concept of it all I guess. 

I just miss sitting in the kitchen with my sister in the evenings after work, chatting absolute rubbish over a cup of tea. And I miss having someone to cuddle up to in bed and telling me funny jokes and stories just to see me laugh. Sigh.

But hey ho, people don’t always have to be together to be happy together! It just makes things easier sometimes… but who said we didn’t like a challenge eh?

In the meantime, me and my fur babies will be having plenty more cuddles to compensate for the absence of my sister and boyfriend this week – and oh how beautiful they are! Here’s #HoraceTheBunnyRabbit and #GilbertTheBullmastiff looking gorgeous!
